Performance evaluation of undergraduate courses at a Brazilian Federal University

Abstract The study aims to determine the efficiency of undergraduate courses associated with a Brazilian Federal University contributing discussion about performance evaluation models in context Higher Education. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is used obtain indexes that reflect ability add knowledge students during academic training period. Therefore, DEA-BCC model applied two different scenarios. In first one, were evaluated as whole, compare them, regardless their differences. second scenario, profile differences each course are respected by grouping these units. Thus, findings showed 10 31 units considered efficient Scenario 1, is, they have provided greater capacity For inefficient units, some variables should be improved analyzed. 2, when grouped area, peers serve benchmarks for identified.
